1-2-1 and group hypnobirthing classes in Congleton, Cheshire
Pregnancy is perhaps one of the most life changing events that you as a woman will experience. You may experience a wide variety of emotions; joy, excitement, love. Anticipation and anxiety are also completely understandable.
Often, women put so much thought into their pregnancy. You consider how best to look after yourself and your baby during pregnancy and after your baby has arrived. Have you put as much thought into the process of bringing your child into the world?
My hypnobirthing classes in Congleton, Cheshire give you the opportunity to reflect on this process and prepare for the transitory period to becoming parents.
Childbirth has the potential to be one of the most incredible experiences in a woman’s and a couple’s life. However, there can be so much anxiety surrounding this event.
Our minds are incredibly powerful and influence so many bodily responses, from muscle tension, hormone levels, and even how we experience sensations.
Your body is already perfectly designed to give birth.
Hypnobirthing teaches you how to trust your body and let your mind step gracefully out of the way. It provides you with the confidence and skills needed to let your body and your baby do what they already know how to do, in the best way possible.
I offer hypnobirthing classes in Congleton, Cheshire to individual couples, groups and for those without a birthing partner. I am trained and qualified in the easibirthing® model of hypnosis for childbirth. This model was developed in the UK specifically for qualified hypnotherapists, in partnership with midwives, to reflect UK birthing practices. It is the only hypnosis for childbirth qualification in the UK to be independently accredited (by the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy) and is designed to be flexible to your individual needs. Hypnobirthing will benefit you, whether this is your first or your fifth pregnancy, whether you are anxious or not, planning to have you baby at home or in hospital. Hypnobirthing can also be used if you are unable to have a vaginal birth and are having a caesarean. Hypnotherapy can also help with hyperemesis gravidarum and for babies in the breech position, so contact me to discuss how sessions can be specifically designed for you.

Hypnobirthing is about changing your expectation of childbirth. No matter what your previous experience or the experience of others, the birth that you are preparing for is unique to you and to your baby. Hypnobirthing gives you the ability to experience this wonderful time in the very best way possible.
Hypnobirthing can be provided in classes or one to one for a more tailored experience. Your birth partner plays a crucial role in your birthing experience. I always encourage partners to attend sessions if possible in order to get the most out of your experience.
Often you may feel more comfortable having classes in your own home in an environment which feels familiar to you and I am always happy to travel to you where possible.
When should I start hypnobirthing?
Sessions run over 5 consecutive weeks, therefore in order to get the most out of your hypnobirthing experience the best time to start with classes is between 24-30 weeks into your pregnancy. This gives you adequate time to practice techniques at home.
What if I have left it longer than 30 weeks?
I understand that pregnancy can be a busy time. You may be at a later stage in your pregnancy before thinking you would like to benefit from hypnobirthing.
I believe that everyone, no matter what stage, will benefit from hypnobirthing. I am therefore able to tailor sessions to your needs. This is an advanced course which works well for most people over 5 sessions. However, I am able to offer the course over 3 longer sessions if needed. Therefore please contact me to discuss your specific requirements.
Do I need to have a birth partner?
At Cheshire Therapy Room I believe that the birth partner plays a crucial role in the birthing process. Birth partners may be your spouse, partner, family member or friend. It is the person you choose to support you during your birth. However if you do not have a birth partner, this is OK. You will find hypnobirthing an incredibly beneficial experience and will help you to feel calm, confident and in control, so please contact me.
What if I am having a caesarean?
Hypnobirthing is beneficial for anybody who is bringing a child into the world, no matter what the process. Hypnobirthing sessions can be completely tailored to your needs. Therefore, if you know you will be having a caesarean but would like to benefit from hypnobirthing, please contact me to discuss your requirements.
Current classes (limited to 3 couples)
I currently hold classes for groups of three couples in order to provide an intimate and personal experience. If you are interested in attending group sessions please contact me.
